In the first month that Melinda was diagnosed with breast cancer she drew a series of mandalas which she later quilted. Mandala which means circle in Sanskrit is used in centering consciousness by a variety of indigenous people. These mandalas tell the story of her healing via the subconscious as she would meditate and then draw a circle and let whatever wanted to be expressed come forth on her paper. She never knew ahead of time what she was going to draw. Afterwards she would contemplate the meaning and message for her. You can read about her Cancer Journey in her book "Healing Breast Cancer Through the Arts, available on donation basis via email. Write to [email protected] ![]()
