The Ornish Diet, created by Dr. Dean Ornish, is fat restricted like the Pritikin Diet and limited to 10% fat, with no meat and only a restricted allowance (once daily) of non-fat dairy or yoghurt and/or egg whites. It was the first scientifically proven studyto reverse coronary atherosclerosis -heart disease. Published in Lancet in 1990, it involved 48 patients. There were 28 in the group receiving his regimeand 20 served as a control group. Meditation, stress management and exercise were included in his approach.
