January

FAMILY-
Visited dad in Florida on his 89th birthday. Went to Butterfly farm, great time with Melinda

HEATH ADVENTURE - 42 day fast, I believe ended before seeing Dad but too soon. Melinda was a great help, doing what she likes best. We are working through the rough spots of adapting to our different personalities.

February-March

BUSY WITH TAX SEASON AND RENTAL HOUSES: Marketed Physician's Tax Service for real and got two new paying clients. Early in the year Purchased Ford Avenue houses, after an ordeal with Ray as well as 247 Chestnut. Put in motion the starting of Advantage Real Estate Services; put in abeyance my RE license to list with Century 21.

April

Completed field paper for PhD. My committee was very supportive. Half pictorial. Jeffner Allen is on sabbatical so giving it a rest before the final leg. School loans are also coming to an end. Started daily athletics program at Fox Care Center, 6am each day for 5 days a week. Added Rick to the office staff.

May

Don came back to work for us. The overall Speenbugh crew, Shawn, Spike and Walt. They have persevered with me and my quirks.

June-July

Business: Lightly renovated 88 Ford for Summer rental. The move to with Melinda to 106 Spruce for the summer was rough. The house was not as finished as quickly as I expected and this was a nightmare for Melinda.

Health club membership has become very rewarding, and a distraction and escape for both of us. Two months of daily HL90 (6 am in morning) made a big difference for me - on a number of levels. Great learning experience, and preparing for Kevin's course on how to become a fitness trainer.

August

Cleaning up the 67 Hudson apartment has been a huge challenge. Cleaning the Lake House and Franklin after the tenants moved is next in line. Started Personal Training Course  with Kevin Harkness. Challenging. Also doing David, Jill's and other fitness classes at Fox, intermittent.

September

15th - DC Trip  Orphan Run. Went to DC peace demonstration, listened to Ralph Nader, Ramsey Clark, & Sheehan. About 100,000 attended with no mention in the major media. Stayed with Nancy in Virginia; had party for us; visited herb farm. Met with Aaron and Krishna in DC for dinner; saw Shira's performance at temple for high holidays Rosh Hashana. Finished major renovation of one side of Otego farm house. Lost out on the politics for summer rentals, after meetings of landlords at my house - and many town meetings.

October

Business: Installed new furnace in 88 ½ Ford and negotiated a new lease for $900/m. Did not get variance for 88Ford parking on front lawn, exterior fencing to comply with insurance. Rental season started early and in full swing. 88 and 90 Ford are being rented to students. New sign and campaign very effective.

Started running 10Ks, beginning with the Pit Run. Visited Indian museum and first saw the work of Albert White, the Mohawk Indian painter. Love his "Reservation" cartoon.

November

Still more renovations: Finished renovation of Spruce Street. Looking to apply for new summer rental as 161 is no longer. 161 East Street/ 159 East Street - town inspection work done for both and electric for 161. Chimney faced, driveway patched, trees trimmed. Credit score up after private loans from Mittleman (120K)and Greg (70K). Now the challenge is to repay with refis in a tight market. Working to sell Schenectady and Franklin.  Schenectady sold 11/21. Otego renovation getting done. Rick and Donna move in. Applied with Wilbur for vital financing 679 FICO. 2008 project $350K if the economy holds up. Will we average 7 rentals in 2008 Summer season...or less? Fear the Bush administration will screw things up for us all, moving the US to effectively a police state. Travel biz may plummet with oil price spikes.

Made reservations today for Belize. Hope to visit Costa Rica next year - either being an escape hatch, if needed, and possible. No word on the inheritance, not yet.

Personal: Melinda made further friends with Jill, went to Livingston Manner book reading with her while I mused at home. Booked flight to Belize. Continuing weekly runs. Melinda runs her first 10K on Thanksgiving! Shira changes her name to Leba.

Magnus visits from Switzerland.

Abstract submitted to Toward a Science of Consciousness; prior abstract was accepted at Quantum Mind, Salzburg conference but I did not attend.  Published in their abstract book.

Got a new colema board, sneakers, trying to organize health supportive environment.

December

Finished Personal Training Course
. Had an awesome year of roadrunning and fast times.
